Salary $80,000 + up to $20,000 Bonus

Reports to Executive chef whose last experiences were at 2 Michelin starred Japanese restaurants.

Live and work in the fastest growing town in the west. Client seeks people dedicated to delivering a top-notch customer experience in a high end, upscale environment opening this fall. Located one block off the town square, Client’s restaurant is poised to be the premier Japanese fine dining experience in Jackson offering traditional Japanese fare, local produce and meats in a casual yet refined environment. Ideal candidates are passionate about creating exceptional food and hospitality who also seek to embrace the outdoor lifestyle while living at the doorstep to Grand Teton and Yellowstone National parks.

A strong team attitude is necessary for the Japanese Chef de Cuisine job position.

General Expectations:

  1. Act in a way that aligns with the values of client’s restaurant
  2. Mentor, train and manage junior staff
  3. Work directly with the Executive chef and assist with ordering, food costing, menu development
  4. Be punctual and presentable
  5. Approach each day with a positive, can do attitude
  6. Maintain a clean and sanitary work station at all times
  7. Work with consistency and good attention to detail and quality
  8. Communicate professionally with all co-workers and guests

Qualifications:

  1. A minimum of 2 years of Japanese Chef experience and cooking in a fine dining restaurant
  2. Must display the image and positive attitude set forth by the restaurant philosophy
  3. Must be able to work a minimum of 40 hours per week
  4. Be able to communicate, understand and write English clearly

Must be able to reach, bend and frequently lift up to 50 pounds
