You will thrive in a fast-paced environment and dedicate time to expanding their clientele base to establish the restaurant’s brand and reputation.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day culinary operations
  • Coordinate food and kitchenware orders
  • Check freshness and quality of ingredients
  • Assist in the development of menu items
  • Standardize recipes and plate presentations
  • Work with management to create a memorable experience for guests

Qualifications:

  • Previous French Executive Chef experience
  • Experience in culinary arts, cooking, or other related fields
  • Diverse in French cuisine
  • Knowledge of cost and labor systems
  • Passion for food and cooking techniques
  • Strong leadership qualities
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Willing to relocate if necessary
Location of the restaurant is the ex-Guards Jazz club venue on 2915 M St. The Guards is in the basement (I used to go there), and we have turned it into a very fancy speakeasy.
On the first floor, we’re planning to open by May 2022, a high-end French restaurant, based on Escoffier techniques that we plan to use and refresh to fit modern presentation. It’s comfort French with a very small American twist that we’re aiming for. Seeking a skilled promising Chef from a high-end brasserie; most important is the French technique and personality of the candidate. Finally, candidate should have a working permit to work in the US…

Most restauranteurs who work in DC do not live there. When I worked in Georgetown, I commuted from Falls Church, VA.
